Feature article on Jodi Picault

Picault is one of the most popular writers around these days, a master of a certain kind of family novel where, often, bad things happen to perfectly normal people. This story in the Sunday NY Times was quite interesting.

NYT: IN THE NOVELS of Jodi Picoult, terrible things happen to children of middle-class parentage: they become terminally ill, or are maimed, gunned down, killed in accidents, molested, abducted, bullied, traumatized, stirred to violence.
